📖 How BIGVILLE works

Add my businessBusinesses

Sign up or log in, then open START (or My Bigville) → Add your business.
Type the name, business type, ABN and address. BIGVILLE checks the ABN is correctly typed and warns if the business looks already listed — then you can claim it instead of adding it twice.
Your business starts as a draft that only you can see. Fill in the details, then press "Publish — go live" on the Dashboard.

Set everything up in one go (✨)Businesses

Dashboard → ✨ Set up in one go. Talk (tap the mic) or type about your business: what you do, hours, phone, services with prices and times, products.
BIGVILLE drafts it for you — only what you said, nothing invented. Tick what's right, fix anything, then save.

Change details, opening hours, map pin or staffBusinesses

Dashboard → Photos, opening hours & staff.
Business details (description, address, phone, website), Opening hours (quick-fill buttons for common hours), Where you are on the map (tap your spot on the map or use your location), and Staff.

Photos and the shop-front photoBusinesses

Dashboard → Photos, opening hours & staff → Photos. Add a SHOP FRONT photo so people can find you, plus a logo and gallery photos.
Photos are shrunk on your phone and quickly checked before customers see them — most show straight away, some wait for a person to check.
The shop-front photo should be renewed every year; BIGVILLE reminds you.
If an upload fails: check your connection, try a smaller photo, or take it again with the camera.

Products, services and pricesBusinesses

Dashboard → Manage products & services. Add them one at a time, upload a photo of your menu or price list for BIGVILLE to read, or use ✨ Set up in one go.
Anything read from a photo waits under "Check these before they go public" until you publish it. Missing prices stay empty — BIGVILLE never guesses.
Services need minutes and a price so customers can book them.

Quick lists (what we have today)Businesses

On the Dashboard, the quick lists show customers what you have with a green / yellow / red light. Tap a light to change it.
Pick words from the suggestions (live at once) or type your own (shown after a quick check).

Bookings: accept, decline, mark as paidBusinesses

Dashboard → Bookings. New requests show at the top — accept or decline with one tap; the customer is told straight away.
Open a booking to chat with the customer, use quick replies, or mark it as paid.
Online payment arrives when Stripe is switched on; until then customers pay you directly.

Jobs: request one, or run them as a business

Customers: open the business's page and press 🛠️ Request a job. Describe the problem (tap the mic to talk), where it is, then chat and agree a time on the job's page. My Bigville → My jobs lists them.
Businesses: Dashboard → 🛠️ Jobs. Accept or decline new requests, suggest a time (or accept the customer's), keep the work log (work done, minutes, parts, follow-up visit), set the amount and mark it paid, then Mark job done.
Job requests are on for every live business; switch them off on the Jobs page. Paying in BIGVILLE arrives with online payments — until then the customer pays the business directly.

Send a customer a billBusinesses

Dashboard → 🧾 Bills. Say what it's for, the amount and when it's due, then press Make bill and Send link (text, WhatsApp or email from your phone).
From a job: set the amount, then press 🧾 Send as a bill.
Until online payment is switched on, the customer pays you directly — press Mark as paid when they do.

Classifieds: sell, swap or give away

Home → 🧺 Classifieds → + Post an ad. Add up to 4 photos, what it is, the price (or Make an offer / Free / Swap), the type, condition and town.
Ads get a quick check, then run 30 days — press Renew to keep one up, or Mark as sold.
Buyers press Message the seller; you both chat in BIGVILLE and your phone and email stay private. My Bigville → 🧺 My ads shows your ads and messages.
Stay safe: meet in a public place, look before you pay, never pay in advance for something posted to you.

Post a special or discountBusinesses

Dashboard → 🏷️ Specials & discounts. Say what's on special, the special price and usual price (or % off), and tap how long it runs.
It shows on the Specials page and your shop page until it ends. Press End now to stop it early. Customers only see it once your business is live.

Post news or an eventBusinesses

Dashboard → 📅 News & events. Choose Event or News, fill it in, pick the date and time, and pin it on the map with one tap.
Every post gets a quick check — most show at once, some wait for BIGVILLE. If one is "Not approved", change the words and post again, or send us a help request.

My status lights (Live / Busy / Away)

Signed in, the lights at the top include My status. Tap the lights, then use Set status as to pick Online, Busy or Away.
Shops you're dealing with see your status, and you see theirs.

Is BIGVILLE down, or is it my internet? (the connection lights)

The lights at the top show three separate things, each with a word: My connection (can this phone or computer get on the internet), BIGVILLE (is BIGVILLE answering), and Services (are the database, email, AI helper and payments that BIGVILLE depends on working). Green is fine, yellow means slow or only partly working, red means not working, grey means "can't tell".
If My connection is red, it is your Wi-Fi or mobile data, not BIGVILLE. BIGVILLE and Services turn grey because we can't see them from there.
Tap any light, then Diagnose my connection (also in My Bigville and at the top of Help & support). It checks everything for a few seconds, then lists what is working and what is not, with numbered steps for each problem, such as turning Wi-Fi off and on or restarting the router.
If BIGVILLE itself is not answering, wait 2 minutes and tap Try again. If it is still red, tap Copy a message for the owner and send it to the owner. The message has no personal details.

Location, town and weather

Tap 📍 under the search bar to use your location. BIGVILLE shows the nearest town, your GPS numbers (tap to copy) and the weather.
If your phone says location is blocked, allow it for this site in your browser settings, then tap 📍 again.

BIGVILLE+lives (emergency contacts and SOS)

In an emergency call 000 first — BIGVILLE is not an emergency service.
My Bigville → BIGVILLE+lives: invite emergency contacts (they must accept). SOS sends your location, nearest town and reason to them; with no signal it sends itself when a bar comes back.
Turn on alerts on each phone so an SOS reaches you even when BIGVILLE is closed. On iPhone, first Add to Home Screen.

Less typing: the mic and remembered answers

Every text box has a mic — tap it and talk.
BIGVILLE remembers what you typed in forms on this phone to fill them next time. My Bigville → Typing → Forget my typing clears it.

Lock & PIN: protect my account

My Bigville → 🔒 Lock & PIN (or the small card on My Bigville, or the i under the search bar → Lock & PIN). Choose a 4-digit PIN once — not an easy one like 1234 or 1111. It's free for everyone with an account.
With a PIN set, a red 🔒 Lock now button appears at the top of every page. One tap locks BIGVILLE on every phone and computer signed in to your account. BIGVILLE keeps running, but nobody can open anything.
Lost your phone? Log in on any computer and press Lock now. When you find it, type your PIN on any device and they all unlock. If the phone is gone for good, also press Sign out on all devices on the same page.
Forgot your PIN? On the Lock & PIN page press "I forgot my PIN" and type your account password. After 5 wrong tries there's a 15-minute wait.

Marketing kit: BIGVILLE logos, posters and guidesBusinesses

Tap the i under the search bar → Marketing kit. Find BIGVILLE's logos, posters, videos and how-to guides.
Press View to open one or Download to keep it. A video only loads when you tap it. They are free to use to promote your business on BIGVILLE.

Share your BIGVILLE story

Tap the i under the search bar → About → Share your BIGVILLE story, and log in if asked.
Add your name, your role or business (optional), your story (30 to 600 characters) and, if you like, a photo. Tick the box to say BIGVILLE can show it publicly, then press Send my story.
BIGVILLE checks every story before it shows: a fine one shows straight away, and one we're unsure about waits for a person at BIGVILLE to read it. On the same page you can change your story later (it goes back for a quick check), or press Withdraw my story: it comes off BIGVILLE straight away.

Close, reopen or delete a businessBusinesses

Dashboard → Close or delete this business (at the bottom). Closing hides it and cancels upcoming bookings (customers are told); paid ones must be refunded first.
You can reopen within 30 days. Deleting for good is only possible when there's no booking history to keep.

My business is already listed by someone elseBusinesses

Open the business's page on BIGVILLE and press Claim it near the bottom. BIGVILLE checks your claim and, once approved, you manage it.

START → Log in or Sign up. Forgot your password? Press "Forgot your password?" on the log-in page.
My Bigville shows your details, businesses and bookings.
