Draft, early-stage policy. This has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and should be treated as a placeholder until it has.
When you sign up: your name and email address. When you book something: the booking details (what, when, price) and which business it's with. If you register a business: the business details you provide (name, description, address, products/services and prices).
We don't currently process online payments, so we don't collect or store card or bank details. When online payment is introduced, that will go through a dedicated payment provider (not stored by us directly), and this policy will be updated first.
Voice typing (the microphone on text boxes) uses your own browser's speech recognition. BIGVILLE never receives or keeps the recording — only the words that end up in the box. Your browser maker (for example Google or Apple) may process the audio to turn it into text.
To run your account, show your bookings, let businesses see and fulfil bookings made with them, and send booking-related emails (like confirmations). We don't sell your information to third parties.
Data is stored with Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting), both reputable infrastructure providers. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure but, being early-stage, we ask you to use a password you don't reuse elsewhere.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data — see our contact page. We handle this consistently with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) so far as it applies to us at our current size.
We may update this policy as BIGVILLE develops. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
Last updated: draft, pre-launch.
